Each spot promises its own unique blend of natural beauty, cultural experiences, and unforgettable memories. Let’s take a closer look at why these three destinations are must-visits this summer!

July: Madeira

Thanks to its perfect weather and vibrant festivals, July is one of the best months to visit Madeira. The island enjoys warm temperatures around 24° Celsius, which is ideal for outdoor activities like hiking through the lush Levadas or exploring the stunning coastline. The summer heat is tempered by refreshing sea breezes, creating a pleasant atmosphere for sightseeing. In addition to the great weather, Madeira comes alive with festivities in summer. During 17-19 July, the Summer Opening music festival takes place in Funchal. The summer festival showcases Portuguese-speaking music. Whether hiking in the sun or enjoying the festive atmosphere, Madeira in July is an unforgettable experience combining perfect weather with unforgettable celebrations.

“If you wish to combine a beach holiday with varied nature experiences in a compact area, I highly recommend travelling to the island of Madeira. During a one-week holiday, you'll have time to enjoy sunbathing, hiking in the mountains above the clouds, and the splashing of the Atlantic Ocean. Don’t miss visiting the magical Fanal Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The easiest way to get around Madeira is by rental car; the roads are in good condition, and the traffic is smooth. The best time to travel to Madeira is during the summer because the temperatures remain moderate even then, and the risk of rainy days is small.”

August: Berlin

August is a fantastic time to visit Berlin, thanks to its warm summer weather and exciting events. Temperatures often reach around 25° Celsius, creating perfect conditions for outdoor activities, whether biking through the city's parks or enjoying a leisurely stroll along the Spree River. The pleasant weather also makes it ideal for exploring Berlin's iconic landmarks, like the Brandenburg Gate or the East Side Gallery. With its beautiful weather and a bustling event scene, Berlin in August is the perfect blend of culture, fun, and exploration.

“Berlin in August is all about long summer days and a lively energy. What is the best way to experience it? Like a local – by bike, public transport or on foot. Tempelhofer Feld is a great place to start, especially for aviation fans. Once an airport, now a vibrant urban park, it’s perfect for cycling down runways, having a picnic or watching the sunset with a Club Mate in one hand and a döner in the other.

For a classic Berlin Sunday, Mauerpark in Prenzlauer Berg is the place to be. Hunt for vintage treasures at the flea market, soak in the atmosphere or join the famous open-air karaoke (I’d go for ABBA). When it’s time for coffee, head to Kreuzberg. Boutique de la Maison is my go-to for a quiet break with a canelé and oat flat white.”

September: Granada (via flights to Málaga)

September is an ideal time to visit Granada, with the summer heat starting to ease but still offering pleasant weather for exploration. Temperature is typically less than 30° Celsius with low humidity, making it perfect for wandering through the city’s historic streets and marvelling at the stunning Alhambra without the intense summer crowds. The cooler evenings are great for dining al fresco in the vibrant squares or enjoying a sunset view of the Sierra Nevada mountains. In September, locals return to their daily lives after the summer holidays, and summer holiday tourists have left the city. The beautiful weather and authentic atmosphere make Granada in September a memorable and comfortable experience for any traveller.

"Historical Granada at the base of the Sierra Nevada is an excellent destination for a day trip from Málaga, although there is plenty to see and do even for a longer period. From Málaga airport, you can get directly to the intriguing city by bus in about two hours, and the ride there is already an amazing experience with its amazing views. Granada's most popular attractions are the Moorish palace and the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Alhambra, where you can easily spend the whole day. However, I do recommend you also climb up the labyrinthine streets to one of the viewpoints in the Moorish district of Albaicín (Mirador de San Nicolás is the most famous one), eat tapas in the old Jewish neighbourhood of Realejo (I especially recommend the area near Campo del Príncipe), buy souvenirs in the Alcaicería bazar, visit the city's cathedral and the surrounding squares, bathe in a hammam, and enjoy flamenco in the caves of Sacromonte."
