These five Finnair.com features make your travel planning easy and inspiring

Finnair's Digital Product Lead, Emmi Sallinen, is one of the people ensuring that Finnair.com always serves you, our customers, in the best possible way. This is no small task, especially with the large number of country-specific sites. There are 56 local sites, so the team is focused on meeting the needs of global customers.

The site is constantly evolving based on customer feedback. “We develop and update features based on the valuable feedback we receive. Our goal is for customers to find what they’ve asked for. It's also worth mentioning that we offer an optimized experience whether you're using the site on desktop or mobile,” Emmi explains.

Many features of the site are designed to make your travel planning both easy and enjoyable. Here are five features Emmi recommends trying when deciding on your next trip:

1. Find your ideal destination

The Destinations page is an excellent place to start if you are still undecided about where to travel. It displays Finnair destinations organised by geographic region. You can easily find the best price for each destination, making it simple to choose one that fits your budget. There’s also an option to filter destinations by country or continent, for example.

We have added some new filters, too! The most requested feature by our Finnish customers is the direct flights filter. You can now find this under the filter section to view all of our direct destinations. Browsing destinations by budget is also easier now—you can choose to view round-trip prices and use the price filter.

If you are looking to book a hotel along with your flights, the destination listing also shows package deal prices. By clicking on a deal, you'll be redirected to the Aurinkomatkat site, where you can select your perfect holiday package.

2. Choose the right time and get the best price

We have made it easy for you to browse our price calendar alongside the destination options. You can now view the price calendar directly on the destination listing page, with the lowest price days highlighted for easy selection. Once you have found the perfect combination of destination and dates, you can continue with the booking process with just one click.

"Finnair.com and our mobile app are always the best places to find the cheapest flight prices. It is worth booking directly with us," says Emmi.

3. See what's trending

If you are looking for inspiration and want to see where everyone else is traveling, check out the "Trending now" list on our homepage. This list updates in real-time based on actual customer searches. If you would like to follow the trends, simply choose your destination from this list.

Even on the “Trending now” list, you can see prices for both flights and flight+hotel packages, making the booking process even simpler.

4. Check the route timetables

If you want to quickly check flight times or the number of flights to a specific destination, our Route timetable page makes it easy. The route timetable calendar shows the number or daily flights for each destination. By clicking on a day, you will see all the exact flight times. 

This page gives you an overview of all available flights without needing to go through the booking process. However, if you do decide to book, you can do so directly from this page as well.

5. Pick your perfect cabin

The new Finnair long-haul cabins have generated a lot of excitement since their introduction in 2022. For many travellers, the chance to experience the renewed Business Class or the all-new Premium Economy cabins is a highlight of the journey.
