Several baggage has been left behind at Helsinki Airport on 5 April 2025. Disruptions in baggage handling are expected to continue today, 6 April, due to the ongoing industrial actions by the Finnish Aviation Union (IAU), which is causing occasional resource shortages. This is impacting ground handling tasks, particularly baggage loading for both departing and arriving flights. As a result, please be aware that there may be unavoidable delays in both baggage delivery and flight departures. Thank you for your patience. We are monitoring the situation closely and will update any new information on this page.
If you are flying with us from Helsinki today, we recommend packing the most essentials, like medicines, in your carry-on baggage, following your carry-on baggage allowance.

If your baggage didn’t arrive on the same flight with you
If your baggage didn’t arrive on the same flight with you, we will automatically create a delayed baggage report for you at the latest when your baggage is located and rerouted. You can manage the report and track the status of your baggage here. Please make sure that the report contains your correct contact details, delivery address, and baggage information. We will send updates about your baggage arrival via SMS and email, if your contact details are included in the report.
Delivery of delayed baggage
We will deliver your baggage to you as soon as possible and contact you to arrange the delivery once your baggage has arrived at your destination. You can find the contact details and business hours of the local handler in your delayed baggage report. Unfortunately, our customer service is unable to provide further information regarding the status of your delayed baggage.
Compensation
In case your baggage is delayed, you can apply for compensation from your insurance company or from us. We will compensate you for the reasonable costs of essential items you purchased during your journey. Please submit your claim to us through this feedback form within 21 days of receiving your baggage. Please keep all the documents related to the case until your claim has been resolved.
