Direct flights to Alicante

Finnair operates direct flights from Helsinki to Alicante several times a week. The flight time is about 4 hours and 20–25 minutes. Alicante International Airport is located 12km southwest of the city centre, which you can easily reach in about 15–20 minutes by taxi or around 20–30 minutes by bus, depending on the traffic. However, the journey may take longer during rush hours. Book flights to Alicante and experience its charming Mediterranean atmosphere!

Luceros Square – an iconic square in the heart of Alicante, noteworthy for its ornate fountain and surrounding grand architecture.  

Alicante’s Old Town (El Barrio) – dive into the history of Alicante by wandering through El Barrio's narrow streets and cobblestone alleys lined with lovely whitewashed houses. You can also find a number of bars, restaurants and boutiques in this charming part of the city.  

Explanada de España – a lively promenade dotted with terraces and cafés. Take a leisurely stroll along the scenic walkway adorned with millions of colourful tiles and soak in the vibrant atmosphere of Alicante.

Beaches – Alicante is a perfect destination for relaxing on the beach and enjoying water activities. With their golden sands and crystal-clear waters, beaches like Postiguet Beach and San Juan Beach are among the most popular spots in the area.

Santa Bárbara – located on top of Mount Benacantil, this medieval fortress provides impressive views over the city and the shimmering Mediterranean Sea.

The Archaeological Museum of Alicante (MARQ) – a history museum that boasts an impressive collection of archaeological finds from the region. Isla de Tabarca – a small island just off the coast of Alicante that charms with its clear waters, beautiful beaches and a lovely quaint village.  

Canelobre Caves – located about 25km from Alicante, this natural wonder is truly a sight to behold with its impressive stalactite and stalagmite formations. You can take a guided tour to learn interesting facts about the caves or even attend a concert there to admire the exceptional acoustics.

Guadalest Valley – nestled in the mountains of Alicante, this remarkable place takes your breath away with its stunning vistas. For a truly unforgettable experience, you can visit the Guadalest Castle where you can enjoy panoramic views of the mountains and the turquoise reservoir below.

Mount Aitana – soaring to over 1,500 metres above the sea level, this majestic peak is the highest in the Alicante province. Those eager to take on the challenge of hiking to the mountaintop are rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding region.

Font Roja Natural Park – renowned for its lush forests, hiking trails and spectacular mountain views, this park is a heaven for nature lovers.

Elche – a stunning city known for its verdant palm groves, located about 25km from Alicante. Experience the lush nature of Elche in its beautiful parks and gardens or discover its unique culture by visiting sites such as Palacio de Altamira, the Basilica de Santa María and the Archaeology and History Museum of Elche.

Altea – located approximately 52km from Alicante, this charming coastal town is renowned for its picturesque whitewashed buildings, lovely old town and scenic views over the Mediterranean. While there, make sure to visit the Church of Nuestra Señora del Consuelo, one of Altea’s most recognisable landmarks with its blue-and-white tiled dome.

Villajoyosa – a lovely coastal town adorned with colourful houses and beautiful beaches, situated about 33km from Alicante. Villajoyosa is known for its chocolate industry, so don’t miss the opportunity to explore the Chocolate Museum and visit local chocolate shops to try the town’s renowned sweets for yourself.

Benidorm – located about 45km from Alicante, this energetic city is famous for its vibrant nightlife, busy beaches and impressive skyscrapers lining the shore. Benidorm is also home to Aqualandia, one of the largest water parks in Spain.

Valencia – a vibrant city located less than 3 hours away from Alicante by train. When visiting Valencia, make sure to explore its magnificent Gothic buildings such as La Lonja de la Seda, discover impressive futuristic architecture and interactive exhibits at the City of Arts and Sciences and savour the famous Valencian paella along with other local treats at the Central Market.

High season – typically from June to September. Alicante also tends to attract more crowds during Easter in March or April as well as the Christmas and New Year period from December to early January.
