Frequently asked questions

What is a multi-city booking?

By selecting “Multi-city” as the trip type, you can book a round trip for different routes in each direction. For example, you can fly from Helsinki to Rome and return from Paris to Helsinki, the travel between Rome and Paris being arranged on your own by other means.

Please keep in mind these limitations when planning your multi-city flights:

  • You must return from the same continent you flew to and to the same continent you left from. For example, you can fly from Europe to Asia and back from Asia to Europe but not from Europe to Asia and then from Asia to North America.
  • When flying to or from Japan or mainland China (excluding Hong Kong), it is not possible to combine other Asian destinations outside Japan or mainland China into the same trip. For example:
    • You can fly from Tokyo to Helsinki and return from Helsinki to Osaka, but not from Helsinki to Bangkok.
    • You can fly from Shanghai to Paris and return from Berlin to Guangzhou, but not from Berlin to Singapore.
  • The distance flown in one direction must be longer in kilometres than the distance between the destinations where you’re travelling by other means.
    • When flying within Europe, the distance you travel by other means must be shorter than the shortest flights (departure or return) in your booking. For example:
      • You can fly from Helsinki to Barcelona and return from Málaga to Tampere, because the distance between Barcelona and Málaga as well as the distance between Helsinki and Tampere is shorter than the flight distance between Helsinki and Barcelona.
      • You cannot fly from Stockholm to Tallinn via Helsinki and return from Warsaw to Stockholm, because the distance between Tallinn and Warsaw is longer than the distance flown between Stockholm and Tallinn.
    • When flying between Europe and North America or Asia, the distance you travel by other means must be shorter than the longest flights (departure or return) in your booking. For example:
      • You can fly from Copenhagen to Singapore via Helsinki and return from Bangkok to Helsinki because the distance between Singapore and Bangkok is shorter than the distance flown between Copenhagen and Singapore.

Currently, our multi-city booking option can only include flights in two directions (departure and return). However, we are working to bring more options available online in the future. Until then, please contact our customer service via chat or phone if you need to make a more complex booking.

In some cases, it might also make sense to book one-way flights for your desired route combination. Simply start by selecting "One way" as the trip type.
