Las Palmas is an excellent choice for families and those who love outdoor activities. With its beautiful, safe, and well-maintained beaches, it will keep the kids entertained for weeks. When you're ready for a change from the sun and sand, there are plenty of family-friendly activities, restaurants, and shopping options to explore.

Start at the famous Playa de las Canteras, which stretches miles along the coastline. This easily accessible beach offers excellent services, such as showers and umbrella rentals, and the promenade is packed with diverse cafés and restaurants.

For a fun indoor activity, take your family to the Poema del Mar aquarium. It has over 550 species of water animals and thousands of plants from around the world. Las Palmas is also a great base for all outdoor enthusiasts, with easy access to the surrounding natural wonders. If you love to hike, do not miss the area around Roque Nublo. The rock itself is a ninety-metre-high monolith standing alone on a hill. The surrounding areas, like Valleseco and Fataga, are great for exploring and have several hiking routes of varying levels.

If you like your outdoors a little less wild, take a pleasant stroll around the Viera y Clavijo Botanical Garden. Its extensive gardens showcase a huge variety of native plants; the cactus area is especially impressive.

Fuerteventura for watersport fans and peace lovers

For example, Cofete Beach is an untouched stretch of coastline that offers solitude and breathtaking views.

Something that will please both the sporty and the peace seekers is a visit to the volcanic craters of Montaña de Tindaya, a sacred site for the indigenous people. The hike up to the mountain will get your blood pumping while the surrounding lunar-like landscapes calm the mind.

Lanzarote for culture vultures and romantics

If you are looking for more than sun, sea and sand, Lanzarote is the perfect Canary Island for you. 
It offers a unique mix of volcanic landscapes, tranquil beaches and cultural activities, making it an ideal destination for a grown-up trip with friends or your partner.

Don’t miss a visit to La Geria, Lanzarote’s unique wine region. Its vineyards, growing in volcanic soil, produce the island’s famous Malvasía wine. A wine-tasting tour here is a must for foodies and wine lovers.

Tenerife for all ages and nightlife seekers

Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands and offers a wide range of activities to keep you busy – regardless of your age or interests. That is why it is especially great if you are planning a trip together with the whole family, from your great-grandmother to the little ones.

If you are travelling with your family, the best area to stay is Costa Adeje.
