Changes possible in our flights during December 2021 and January 2022

The Omicron variant as well as the normal flu season are causing increased sickness absences in Finnair and in the teams of our partners.

Please note that this archived article will not be updated. Go to "Travel updates" for the latest information.

The same situation applies to other airlines and airports globally. Also, the winter conditions and their impact on operations challenge us on certain days. In addition, the strike announced by Trade Union PRO in Finnair Technical Services from 17 January until 31 January 2022 can also cause more disruption and therefore flight cancellations. Due to this, changes in our traffic are possible during December 2021 and January 2022.

We are following the situation closely and work hard to minimise any effects for you. We update any new information on this page.

If your flight is disrupted, we will contact you directly via SMS and/or e-mail. Please go to Manage booking and check that we have your current contact information. If needed, please request a change for your contact details through Sisu chatbot on our website. You can see the changes in your travel plan via Manage booking or Finnair mobile app.

In case your journey requires a coronavirus pre-test, we recommend you take it as close to the departure as possible. Nevertheless, if your pre-test expires due to a flight cancellation or delay, until 31 January, you can change your travel dates without a change fee by contacting our customer service, even if your departure is less than 48 hours away. The possibility for a refund is according to the ticket rules.
