Changes in EU regulations will affect liquid restrictions in carry-on baggage as of 1 September 2024

EU regulation change imposes new restrictions on the size of the liquid containers in carry-on baggage at all European airports as of 1 September 2024.

As of 1 September 2024, as per the new regulation published by the European Commission, the size of the liquid containers in carry-on baggage is restricted to a maximum of 100 ml packages at all European airports, including Helsinki Airport. You are still allowed to bring up to 2 liters of liquids if you start your journey from Helsinki Airport, provided that the individual packages don’t exceed 100ml maximum. The change does not affect transfer passengers at Helsinki Airport, liquids in checked-in baggage or Finavia’s network airports in Finland. You can find information about security checks at other airports on the respective airport's websites.

To make your travel smoother and prepare for the revised liquid restrictions you can read more about carry-on baggage on our flights here and changes in liquid restrictions at Finavia´s website here.
